Last week marked a major milestone for us at Creadigol Design as we officially launched VEDRI — our new virtual production (VP) studio based in North Wales — with our first real-time shoot at the incredible Aria Studios.
The goal? To showcase that end-to-end virtual production can be executed entirely in real time, with no post-production required. It’s the future of filmmaking — and it’s already here.
Using real-time camera tracking from stYpe and the Ultimatte keyer by Blackmagic Design, we created a complete VP workflow: from tracking and keying to compositing and final image capture — all live on set.
With real-time virtual environments, actors could perform inside fully rendered digital worlds. What you saw on the monitor was the final frame — no waiting, no guesswork. Just instant visual storytelling.
This process doesn’t just streamline production — it transforms it. Directors, cinematographers, and crews gain full creative control, making live adjustments to lighting, blocking, and framing while seeing the final world unfold in real time.
One of the most exciting aspects of this shoot was the team. Around 80% of the crew had never worked on a virtual production stage before. Yet by the end of the day, everyone felt confident and creatively energised.
Virtual production can seem intimidating, but with the right tools and support, it becomes a collaborative, intuitive process — and this shoot proved it.
Like any first-time project with advanced technology, we ran into a few technical hiccups — from calibration tweaks to sync adjustments. But the team adapted quickly, the gear held up beautifully, and we pulled it together with confidence and clarity.
More importantly, each challenge gave us valuable insights that will sharpen our process for every project going forward.
This shoot was just the beginning.
VEDRI exists to make virtual production more accessible — especially for filmmakers, agencies, content creators, and educators across North Wales and beyond. We’re starting with a green screen cyclorama studio, and expanding into full LED volume capabilities to bring high-end, in-camera VFX within regional reach.
From launching training programmes to developing scalable VP workflows and supporting bilingual content creation, we’re building a virtual production ecosystem right here in North Wales — and we’re just getting started.
We can’t wait to keep pushing boundaries, nurturing talent, and showing what’s possible when real-time technology meets creative storytelling.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible:
Paul Andrew, Andrew Lai, Aria Film Studios, stYpe, Blackmagic Design, and Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland — your support made the magic happen.
Brands, Motion and Collaboration.
